Great service, great work, great prices. I dropped off a Toyota LSD & non-LSD 3rd member in the morning. Later that day I got a call to pick it up. Far sooner than I expected, cheaper than I expected to pay. All round brilliant experience. I’m bringing in another diff today for work. Will never go anywhere else.

I was having some problems with the differential on my van, and I called several places to check the prices. The noise was roaring as the van picked up speed, and I wasn’t sure if the gears were gone or just a bearing. I called sf differential and not only did they quote me the best price, but they gave me a lot of valuable information of what was going on with my van. I had them look at the gears, sure enough they were all grinded down from wear and tear. They did the repair and stuck with the price they quoted me, the sound was gone and the van drove like it use to; they fixed my axel shaft and was on time with excellent customer service. I would recommend them to anyone who’s having problems with their differential.

Curtis know his stuff, charge fair prices, and are polite and professional. This is my “go to” differential shop for the SF Bay area.

Brought my ’86 Toyota pick up camper to Firestone, and after deducing that the problem with it running chunky was the differential. Firestone, not working on rear differentials recommended SF Differential Repair. The team at SF Differential was friendly and helpful and got my beloved truck running smooth and quiet again – they even did a little extra work to fix another noise issue. if you’re car is need of Differential work, I’d definitely recommend this spot. HOWEVER, note – they have moved to 660 Bryant St in SF. they are no longer in south san francisco.

SF Differential is THE place to be if you need your rear end fixed! The work is solid and the guys know their shit. You can tell they enjoy what they do which is refreshing compared to other sour-faced auto guys I’ve dealt with in the past. To my hubby’s dismay, I basically know zero about cars — I failed Autos in high school — but Curtis was kind enough to humor my curiosity. He let me snap a few pics and even took some time to show me what they installed in our car. Hubs could not contain his eye rolls, but I’m a dork and I insisted on documenting for Yelp purposes. Five stars for the service and fair prices. Keep up the good work, fellas!

I purchased an 09 Infiniti G37 convertible with an open differential. The car came with a supercharger installed so naturally it needed to have the rear differential upgraded to a limited slip unit. I brought my car to another shop where I had a new Quaife LSD unit installed professionally and a week later the differential started making noise. I contacted sf differential repair and they told me to bring my differential in for an inspection. They immediately identified the problem and suggested replacing the bearings, seals, and also recommended to properly set the backlash. They also mentioned there may still be some noise from the ring gear due to faulty previous work but we would wait and see because a new ring gear set was expensive. he repaired differential did end up being louder than I had hoped so I brought the unit in again this time with a new gear set. Now everything is perfect! Excellent quality, communication, and great overall customer service. Very professional.

Just got a 1968 GMC 2500 with a Dana-60 rear end, gears too low for freeway and getting some freeway gears swapped in from SF Differential and was very happy to hear that the POSI can stay and I’ll be on the freeway! I’ve worked the naval shipyards of San Francisco and on major elevator (geared motors) installs and have seen many shops and this shop works on it ALL. I’m in good hands and hope you find the same comfort I have in finding San Francisco Differential Repair.

So one day, both upper control arm brackets decided to break the welds, leaving my rear end severely unstable. so i gave them a call and they said to go so they could check it out. they called up a guy, former employee who does their welding, and they welded up my rear end back together! they ran into a couple problems so the price was a little higher than expected but still very reasonable, the welds were clean and still are holding up about half a year later.
